Beavers hold on for 3-1 win over Wildcats

BABSON PARK, Mass. – Senior captain Brent Rickett scored his 12th goal of the season for the JWU (Providence) men's ice hockey team in a 3-1 loss at Babson College Saturday afternoon in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action at the Babson Skating Center.

Senior Maxime Dumas and freshman Chris Alexander were credited with assists on the goal for the Wildcats, who received 31 saves from junior netminder Jacob Perrin. JWU was outshot 34-25 on the afternoon and went 0-for-6 with the man advantage.

The Beavers scored once in the first and again in the second to build a 2-0 lead. Rickett found the back of the net with 3:01 remaining in the second to cut JWU's deficit in half heading the third. The visitors outshot Babson 8-4 over the final 20 minutes but were unable to get the equalizer before the Beavers hit the empty net with one second remaining.

Junior Cam Martin led all student-athletes with seven shots and sophomore Davis Bone won 15-of-24 face-offs.
