Women's soccer locks down Chargers in 4-0 win

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Sophomore Kylie Schmidt scored her second goal of the season in JWU-Providence's 4-0 win over Colby-Sawyer College Saturday night in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.

Junior Angelina Oliveira and Madison Sanborn, along with sophomore Katie Gallagher, also scored goals for the Wildcats, who remained unbeaten in conference play at 8-0-0 (8-1-3 overall). Juniors Leah Bragaw and Carly McCrumb combined for one save in the shutout victory, the team's seventh clean sheet of the season.

The Wildcats outshot the Chargers 10-2 in the first half but were unable to get on the board until Oliveira redirected a free kick from junior Emily DeRoehn 90 seconds into the second half. Schmidt did the same on a cross from freshman Ava Wilder at 64:22 before Sanborn potted a loose ball at 70:50. Gallagher capped the scoring when she sent in a corner kick from the left side at 73:07.
