Field Hockey moves to 7-0 with shutout at Rivier

NASHUA, N.H. – Graduate student Margaret Johnson racked up a goal and two assists in JWU-Providence's 4-0 win over Rivier University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) field hockey action Saturday afternoon at Merrill Field.

Classmate Mackenzie Wolf dished out a pair of assists as the Wildcats moved to 7-0 on the season (4-0 GNAC) outshot the Raiders 34-1. Senior Kaitlyn Freeman, junior Izzy Ward, and freshman Ava Pontes also tallied goals for JWU, which has outscored opponents 38-1 thus far in 2023.

Freeman scored the only goal the Wildcats would need just 57 seconds into the contest. Ward doubled the JWU lead less than two minutes later before goals from Pontes and Johnson 1:33 apart in the fourth quarter capped the scoring.
