Carrion, Capezza score in 2-0 win over Pride

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior Angelina Carrion scored the game-winning goal in the first half to propel the JWU-Providence women's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Regis (MA) College Wednesday night in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action in a driving rainstorm at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.

Senior Trina Capezza added an insurance marker early in the second half as the Wildcats remained unbeaten on the season at 3-0-2 (3-0-0 GNAC). Junior Carly McCrumb needed to make just one save to earn her third win of the season.

Carrion's second goal of the season came on a free kick at 31:32 and staked the home team to a 1-0 lead. Capezza doubled the lead at 58:26 when she knocked home a cross from freshman Jessica Lee from the right side.

JWU outshot the Pride 21-1 and held an 11-1 edge in corner kicks.
