Women's soccer scores three late to defeat Cadets

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Junior Skyla Landry scored the game-winning goal with less than 10 minutes remaining in the match to lift the JWU-Providence women's soccer team to a 3-0 win at Norwich University Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.

Junior Angelina Carrion and freshman Sophia Waburton also found the back of the net for the Wildcats (4-0-2, 4-0-0 GNAC), who outshot the Cadets 36-0 and held a 14-0 edge in corner kicks. Warburton, along with senior Trina Capezza and freshman Lulani Haslinger, were each credited with assists for JWU.

The game remained scoreless until Landry broke through with her first of the season at 80:57. Seven minutes later, Warburton's first collegiate marker doubled the JWU lead before Carrion's third tally of 2023 at 89:34 put the game away.

Junior Carly McCrumb played the final 21 minutes of the match and was credited with the win, improving to 4-0-1 on the season.
