NEWTON, Mass. – The Johnson & Wales (RI) University men's lacrosse team was defeated by Lasell University 10-6 Tuesday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at Grellier Field.

Senior Andrew Vasile scored three times for the Wildcats (10-6, 5-5 GNAC), who have secured the No. 7 seed in the conference tournament and will head back to Newton on Saturday to face the Lasers at 1 p.m. in the quarterfinals. Classmate Alex Padula added two goals and an assist while junior Hayden Haldane also found the back of the net.

Senior Mike Catuosco collected a team-leading four ground balls for JWU, which was outshot 47-31. Senior Louis Quinones and junior Andrew Carroll each notched three GB's and freshman netminder Chris April stopped 17 shots between the pipes.
