STANDISH, Maine – Junior Brent Rickett scored three goals for the Johnson & Wales (RI) University men's lacrosse team in an 11-8 loss at St. Joseph's (ME) Friday night in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at the SJC Athletic Complex.
Graduate student Joe McIntyre added two goals and an assist as the Wildcats (10-5, 5-4 GNAC) were blanked in the fourth quarter and suffered their third-straight defeat. Senior Mike Catuosco went 18-of-22 at the X and finished the night with 18 GB's while senior Andrew Vasile collected a goal and an assist for JWU.
The Wildcats held a 6-5 halftime lead behind a pair of tallies from Rickett and two points from both McIntyre and Vasile. The Monks outscored the visitors 4-2 in the third, scoring the eventual GWG with 46 seconds remaining in the quarter. They added a pair of insurance markers in the fourth.
Sophomore Trent Madigan recorded 15 saves as JWU was outshot 37-31. The Wildcats committed 30 turnovers, finishing the night 14-of-22 on clears.
