Monks take two from Wildcats

STANDISH, Maine – The Johnson & Wales (RI) University softball team dropped a pair of Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contests at Saint Joseph's College of Maine Saturday afternoon at Richard W. Bailey Field.

Game One: Monks 1, Wildcats 0 (8 inn.)
The Wildcats were held to three hits – including a double from sophomore Caroline Amorelli – and fell in extra. Graduate student Livia Feole allowed eight hits and an unearned run in 7.1 innings of work; the ghost runner was singled home in the bottom of the eighth.

Game Two: Monks 3, Wildcats 1
Junior Hailey Erickson went 2-for-3 with an RBI single in the third for JWU, which also received two hits from graduate student Megan Antaya. Junior Sage Borkowski surrendered eight hits and three runs over five to fall to 4-1 on the season.
