AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Johnson & Wales (RI) University softball team defeated Aurora University 11-3 and Muskingum University 2-1 Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action at the Auburndale Softball Complex. With the wins, the Wildcats improved to 5-1 on the season.

Game One: JWU 11, Aurora 3 (6 inn.)
Sophomore Caroline Amorelli and freshman Mady Lyons each collected three hits and plated three runs for the Wildcats. Junior Julia Huzi went 3-fo-4 and scored twice while graduate student Jill Pulek was 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored as JWU pounded out 15 hits.

The Wildcats threw up a crooked number in four of their six turns at the plate, highlighted by a '4' spot in the sixth that featured a two-run double off the bat of sophomore Gabby Colace. Lyons, meanwhile, smacked her second home run in as many days in the fifth. Junior Sage Borkowski battled through some early control problems to pick up her second win of the season, allowing five hits and three runs with five walks and a pair of strikeouts.

Game Two: JWU 2, Muskingum 1
Freshman Jadyn Torres cracked a bases-loaded two-run double in the second to give the Wildcats the only two runs they would need. Sophomore Katie Scheid scattered eight hits to go with one walk and one strikeout over seven to move to 3-0.
