WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Senior Taina Gamory registered nine points in Johnson & Wales (RI) University's 22-4 win over the University of Saint Joseph Wednesday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at the USJ Lacrosse Field.
Gamory potted five goals and dished out four assists while both junior Maris DiBeneditto and sophomore Madeleine Gould each scored four times for the Wildcats, who improved to 5-2 on the season and remained perfect in conference play at 5-0. Junior Katie Sloan recorded three goals and an assist as a total of eight JWU student-athletes recorded at least one point.
Senior Margaret Johnson and freshman Izzy Babb both struck for a pair of goals while senior Ally Wilson and sophomore Isabella Nugent both collected a goal and two apples. The Wildcats – who outshot the Blue Jays 36-12 – won 24 of 29 draw controls, including seven by Johnson. Sophomore Emma Glyman recorded six saves to improve to 5-2 on the season.
