BRISTOL, R.I. – Graduate student Megan Antaya and senior Meaghan Gurska each went 2-for-3 with two RBI in Johnson & Wales (RI) University's 10-0 win over Roger Williams University Wednesday afternoon in non-conference softball action at Paolino Field.

Junior Julia Huzi and sophomore Mackenzie Clee also picked up two hits for the Wildcats, who improved to 9-6 with the win. Sophomore Katie Scheid tossed four innings of one-hit innings of shutout ball to earn her sixth win of 2023.

Gurska's two-run single in the first sparked a four-run inning and gave the visitors an early lead. Run-scoring singles in the fifth off the bats of Antaya and sophomore Caroline Amorelli helped extend the lead to 10-0. Junior Hailey Erickson and freshman Jadyn Torres also recorded an RBI for JWU, which finished the contest with nine hits compared to one for the Hawks (4-9).
