Blanchard nets a pair of loss to UMass Boston

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Sophomore Connor Blanchard scored a pair of goals in Johnson & Wales (RI) University's 6-3 loss to UMass Boston Saturday afternoon in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action at the New England Sports Complex.

Freshman Cam Martin added a pair of assists for the Wildcats, who also received a goal from freshman Brendan Doyle and assists from junior Brendan Shandley and sophomore Cam Martin. Sophomore netminder Jacob Perrin stopped 49 shots between the pipes for JWU, which was outshot 55-22 and went 1-for-6 with the man advantage.

The Beacons led 3-0 after two before the Wildcats got on the board 1:37 into the third on Blanchard's third marker of the season. Later in the period, the two schools combined to score five goals in a span of 5:27 – three for the Beacons and two for the Wildcats – however the Beacons lead never dipped below two goals.
