NORTOH BOSTON, Mass. – The Johnson & Wales (RI) University men's ice hockey team fell to UMass Boston 5-1 Friday night in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action at Barry Ice Rink.
Sophomore netminder Jacob Perrin turned aside 55 shots for the Wildcats. Senior Kodi Legassie spoiled the UMB shutout bid with 44 seconds remaining in regulation; both Legassie and junior Brent Rickett led JWU with five shots each. Junior Ryo Namiki blocked a team-high four shots.
The Beacons outshot the visitors 60-17 and won 35 of 52 face-offs. They scored twice in the first, once in the second, and two more times in the third.
