Brea scores twice in 2-1 OT win over Lancers

WORCESTER, Mass. – Freshman Sophia Brea scored her first two collegiate goals to lift the JWU-Providence women's hockey team to a 2-1 overtime win over Worcester State University Friday night in non-conference action at the Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Center.

Junior Madi Fox and sophomore Zoe Tow registered assists on the OT winner, which came just 16 seconds into the extra session and gave the Wildcats their second win of the season. Senior netminder Leah White turned aside 32 shots as JWU held a 43-33 edge in that category.

Brea's first career marker came with less than five minutes remaining in regulation and knotted the game at one. Junior Reese Middendorf and graduate student Sara Cruise picked up assists on the goal. Her second off a feed from Tow gave the Wildcats the skate-off win.
