Doyle nets hat trick in loss to Thoroughbreds

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Sophomore Brendan Doyle picked up her first collegiate hat trick in JWU-Providence's 7-3 loss to Skidmore College Saturday afternoon in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's hockey action at New England Sports Village.

Junior Jacob Perrin turned aside 48 shots for the Wildcats (0-3-0, 0-2-0 NEHC), who were outshot 55-29. Seniors Declan Dennehy and Conner Lindsoe, sophomores Davis Bone and Cam Martin, and freshman Harout Torosian all recorded an assist in the loss.

The Wildcats trailed 2-0 after one period of play before Doyle's sixth goal of the season 30 seconds into the second cut their deficit in half. The Thoroughbreds (3-0-0, 2-0-0 NEHC) responded three goals in the final 9:39 of the period to take a 5-1 lead after two periods. Doyle potted goals at 3:25 and 13:43 of the third to complete the hat trick.

JWU went 2-for-3 with the man advantage compared to 2-for-6 for Skidmore.
