JWU skates to 3-3 tie with NEC

HENNIKER, N.H. – Senior captain Brent Rickett scored his second goal of the season in JWU-Providence's 3-3 tie with New England College Friday night in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's hockey action at Lee Clement Arena.

Classmate Declan Dennehy and sophomore Brendan Doyle also scored for the Wildcats (0-3-1, 0-2-1 NEHC), who received two assists from sophomore Davis Bone. Freshmen Ryan Walsh, Chris Alexander, and Harout Torosian, along with sophomore Cam Martin, all collected an assist while senior Jaxon Friedman stopped 36 shots.

Rickett's marker tied the game at one just 1:06 after NEC opened the scoring. Doyle's seventh goal of the season at 18:44 of the second sent JWU to the locker room with a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes of action before Dennehy made it a two-goal lead 3:41 into the third.

NEC cut its deficit to one with a PP goal at 8:42, then tied the game with 1:03 remaining in regulation with the man advantage. It finished the night 2-for-7 on the PP while JWU failed to covert on four chances.
