Rickett, Doyle find back of net in loss to Spartans

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Senior Brent Rickett and sophomore Brendan Doyle each scored a power-play goal in JWU-Providence's 6-2 loss to VTSU Castleton night in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action at the New England Sports Village.

Senior Brendan Shandley and Declan Dennehy, along with freshman Chris Alexander and Harout Torosian, all collected assists for the Wildcats (0-2-0, 0-1-0 NEHC), who went 2-for-5 with the man advantage.

JWU fell behind 3-0 before goals from Rickett at 19:39 of the second and Doyle 1:51 into the third cut the deficit to 3-2. The Spartans (1-2-0, 1-0-0 NEHC) responded with three unanswered goals – including two in a span of 1:04 – to seal the win.

Making his first collegiate start, freshman netminder Jake Inzirillo recorded 22 saves.
