Aireus Raspberry poured in 30 points in JWU-Providence's 97-59 loss to the University of Rhode Island Wednesday afternoon in an exhibition game at The Ryan Center.
Raspberry knocked down five 3-pointers and also collected three boards and three assists for the Wildcats. Junior
Josh Zangerle filled the stat sheet with 16 points, three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block while sophomore
Izaiah Shaw-Glen scored eight points and senior
Sean Duke netted five points.
The Wildcats trailed by only 11 at the half as Raspberry scored 11 points and Zangerle added 10. JWU also took care of the ball, committing just three turnovers while forcing four. The Rams outrebounded the Wildcats 30-17 and shot 42 percent in the opening stanza, compared to 31 percent for the visitors.

JWU cut its deficit to nine following a jumper from Duke 3:48 into the second half before the Rams pulled away. Raspberry drained four triples over the final 20 minutes as the Wildcats finished 9-of-25 from downtown (38 percent) – including 5-of-8 in the second half.
URI finished with a 58-27 edge on the glass and shot 51 percent. JWU capped the afternoon at 36 percent shooting.
