JWU falls to Albertus Magnus in opener, 6-2

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Sophomore Brendan Doyle scored a pair of goals in JWU-Providence's 6-2 loss at Albertus Magnus College Saturday night in non-conference men's ice hockey action at Wonderland of Ice.

Senior Conner Lindsoe, sophomore Davis Bone, and freshman Joe Freeman all racked up an assist for the Wildcats (0-1-0), who were outshot 33-23. Freeman's assist was the first point of his collegiate career.

JWU trailed 2-0 before Doyle's first goal cut its deficit in half. The Falcons answered with three unanswered goals and led 5-1 after two periods of play. Doyle's second goal of the contest came on the PP late in the third.

Senior Jaxon Friedman recorded 27 saves for JWU, which finished the night 1-of-12 with the man advantage.
