Ava Pontes scored the game-winning goal for the JWU-Providence with 35 seconds remaining in the first half to propel the field hockey team to a 3-1- win over Lasell University Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at Grellier Field.

Emma Ferrara also scored for the Wildcats (12-1, 9-1 GNAC), who dealt the Lasers (21-1, 9-1 GNAC) their first loss of the season.
The Lasers opened the scoring 10 minutes into the contest before Johnson's sixth goal of the season early in the second knotted the score at one. Pontes then gave JWU the lead for good with her 10th marker of the season, and Ferrara sealed the win with her first late in the fourth.
