HENNIKER, N.H. – The JWU-Providence field hockey team dropped its first game of the 2023 campaign with a 1-0 overtime loss at New England College Tuesday night in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at Don Melander Field.
The loss moved the Wildcats to 11-1 on the season (7-1 GNAC) and marked their first conference defeat since a 5-3 defeat at Colby-Sawyer on September 11, 2021 – a span of more than 700 days. JWU outshot the Pilgrims (7-6, 6-3 GNAC) 17-11 but were blanked for the first time in the regular season since a 4-0 loss to Salve Regina on September 4, 2021.
