GENEVA, N.Y. – Junior Hayden Haldane scored his sixth goal of the season for the Johnson & Wales (RI) University men's ice hockey team in a 5-1 loss at No. 1 Hobart College Saturday afternoon in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's action at Geneva Recreation Complex Skating Center.
The Wildcats – who played with only 10 forwards and five defensemen (three of which were forwards) due to illness – grabbed the lead 1:14 into the contest but were outshot 65-14 on the day. Freshman Brendan Doyle and senior Aaron Garrison collected assist on Haldane's tally while sophomore Justin Perrin recorded 60 saves.
The Statesmen tied the game late in the first on the PP before scoring three goals in the opening 13:11 of the second to open up a 4-1 lead. Hobart finished the game 1-for-2 with the man advantage while JWU went 1-for-3.
