NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Seniors Alexander Pane and Esteban Osorio scored in the opening eight minutes of Johnson & Wales (RI) University's 2-1 win at Albertus Magnus Wednesday night in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's soccer action at Celentano Field.
Graduate student Nick Gutekunst collected an assist and senior goalkeeper Jacob Friedman racked up three saves to extend the Wildcats win streak to four and unbeaten streak to seven (6-0-1).
Pane staked the visitors to a 1-0 lead 3:17 into the match with an unassisted tally. Less than five minutes later, Osorio potted the GWG off a feed from Gutekunst to double the JWU lead. The Falcons (5-2-3, 3-1-2 GNAC) cut their deficit in half with a marker in the 89th minute to close the scoring.
Each school was credited with 11 shots on goal.
