PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Johnson & Wales (RI) University men's soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to five with a 3-0 shutout of Plymouth State University Tuesday evening in non-conference men's soccer action at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.
Sophomore Brian Miller scored the only goal the Wildcats (5-2-1) would need before senior Gianni Lisa and freshman Carlos Andrade added insurance markers later in the match. Senior Jacob Friedman needed to make three saves en route to his fifth shutout of the season.
Miller opened the scoring 12:46 into the match when he knocked in a pass from Andrade from the side of the net. Later, freshman Esteban Osorio slid a pass behind the defense to Lisa, who broke in and buried an upper 90 goal into the right corner to make it 2-0.
Andrade capped the scoring with his third marker of 2022 early in the second half. Graduate student Ricky Africo sent a cross that was misplayed by the PSU goalkeeper and Andrade poked it into an empty net at 57:01.
