Men's soccer blanks Elms for third-consecutive match, wins 5-0

CHICOPEE Mass. – Sophomore Conner Elliott netted a pair of goals in Johnson & Wales (RI) University's 5-0 shutout of Elms College Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at Leary Field.

Seniors Gianni Lisa, Quinton Kramarck, and Austin Sweeney also scored for the Wildcats (4-2-1, 2-0-1 GNAC), who extended their win streak against the Blazers (1-5-0, 0-2-0 GNAC) to four, the last three by way of shutout. Elliott and Sweeney each registered assists while senior goalkeeper Jacob Friedman recorded four saves before being lifted late in the second half In favor of graduate student Brandon Coder.

JWU scored all five of its goals in the second half, the first of which and eventual game-winner coming off the foot of Sweeney 14 minutes into the stanza. Just over four minutes later, Elliott scored his first goal to double the lead before adding his fourth marker of 2022 less than six minutes later.

The Wildcats outshot the Blazers 19-5.
