PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Graduate student Jillian Miele picked up a hat trick in Johnson & Wales (RI) University's 8-0 shutout of Dean College Saturday afternoon in non-conference field hockey action at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.
Eight different JWU student-athletes picked up at least one point as the Wildcats moved to 4-0 on the season – the best start in program history. Senior Margaret Johnson chipped in with a goal and an assist while freshmen Caitlin Quinn, Zofia Bangs, and Samantha Blahut each registered their first collegiate goals.
The Wildcats outshot the Bulldogs (0-3)35-0 and held a 13-0 edge in penalty corners. Sophomore Izzy Ward also found the back of the net for JWU.
