PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Sophomore Darian Shepherd was one of six different goal scorers in Johnson & Wales (RI) University's 7-0 win over Rivier University Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) field hockey action on Homecoming Weekend at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.
Graduate student Jillian Miele continued her torrid scoring pace for the Wildcats, adding two goals and three assists to give her 21 points (9-3-21) in her last five games. JWU, meanwhile, remains unbeaten in 2022 as its record moved to 11-0 (6-0 GNAC).
Senior Margaret Johnson picked up a goal and an assist for a JWU squad which outshot the Raiders (4-7, 3-3 GANC) by a 29-6 margin. Junior Katie Sloan and Mya Bolk, along with freshman Kameron Marando, all found the back of the goal while senior Madison Flaxington stopped three shots to record her 11th win of the season.
