Field Hockey quiets Blazers in 6-0 win

CHICOPEE, Mass. – Senior Hailey Schneider racked up a goal and an assist in Johnson & Wales (RI) University's 6-0 win at Elms College Wednesday night in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) field hockey action at Timothy J. Leary Field.

Graduate student Jillian Miele tallied a goal and two helpers, senior Margaret Johnson added a goal and an assist, and both junior Kaitlyn Freeman and freshman Izzy Ward potted goals for the Wildcats (13-0, 8-0 GNAC), who remained unbeaten in 2022.

JWU struck for three goals in the opening 12:29 and two more in the second quarter to lead 5-0 at halftime. Senior Madison Flaxington played the first half in goal for head coach Lisa Lopes and recorded one save en route to her 13th win of the season. Junior Daisy Sharrow and freshman Rebecca Johnson played the third and fourth quarters in net, respectively.
