Wildcats remain unbeaten with 3-0 win over Chargers

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior Margaret Johnson scored a goal and an assist in Johnson & Wales (RI) University's 3-0 win over Colby-Sawyer College Wednesday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) field hockey action at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.

Graduate student Jillian Miele potted her 19th goal of the season and freshman Emma Ferrara scored her first collegiate goal for the Wildcats, who upped their record to 14-0 on the season (9-0 GNAC). JWU outshot the Chargers (10-5, 6-3 GNAC) by a 17-8 margin.

Miele opened the scoring less than five minutes into the match when she redirected a shot from Johnson in the first quarter. Ferrara scored on a turnaround shot early in the second half to double the lead before Johnson's ninth marker of 2022 capped the scoring.

Senior Madison Flaxington recorded three saves to improve to 14-0 on the season. Sophomore Haley Budenas notched a defensive save for head coach Lisa Lopes.
