PROVIDENCE - The softball team overcame back-to-back deficits to extend it's winning streak to 10 games to open the 2021 season. The 10-0 record is the best start in program history. Game one saw Norwich jump out to a 6-2 lead before JWU scored nine unanswered for the 11-6 win while JWU answered a two run 1st inning by the visitors with five of their own en route to a 10-5 win.

Of Note:
The Cadets jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning that the Wildcats were able to quickly erase the deficit with a pair of runs of their own to even the score at two apiece. Norwich plated four runs in the 3rd before JWU answered the call once again by grabbing five runs in the home half of the 4th sparked by Kaelani Gamble's solo homerun to leadoff the inning. A four run 6th capped the scoring for the opening game as the Wildcats won 11-6. Livia Feole pitched five innings of relief in the circle and earned the victory allowing no runs on two hits.
Game two opened with a two-run top of the first for the visiting Cadets before the hosts tacked on five runs including Devin Scales first homerun of the afternoon. Scales stood in and smacked another two-run shot to give the Wildcats a 7-2 lead after two innings. JWU collected a pair of runs in the 5th and another in the 6th en route to the 10-5 win. Sage Borkowski earned the win in the circle while Feole picked up here first save of the year.
