PROVIDENCE - Kaelani Gamble homered twice in game one while Megan Gurska sent her first career long ball over the fence in game two to push the Wildcats softball team to a two game sweep of Mitchell on Wednesday evening. JWU topped the Mariners 13-5 in game one and cruised to a 14-5 victory in the nightcap.

Of Note:
After trailing 3-1 heading into the home half of the 3rd inning, the Wildcats posted five runs in the frame courtesy of a Summer Ramundo RBI single followed by a two-run homerun by Gamble. The blast was the first of Gamble's career. In the 6th inning, JWU led by two runs before senior Jill Pulek laced a two-run double over the outstretched glove of the right fielder. Gamble stepped to the plate again and ripped her second big fly of the game deep to left field plating Pulek and Shari Minalga. Julia Huzi closed out the scoring with a double to left center a few batters later to close out the opening contest in the 6th inning, 13-5. Gamble knocked in five RBI and Hailey Erickson had three RBI for JWU.
The hosts plated a run in the 1st and two in the 2nd to open the scoring in game two. A pair of singles by Minalga and Gurska followed by a wild pitch plated three runs to push the Wildcat lead to 6-2 in the 3rd. An eight run 4th, including Gurska's homerun, put the game out of reach for the visiting Mariners as JWU held on for the 14-5 victory. Huzi collected three hits in the game while Megan Antaya and Talia Smaller joined Gurska with three RBI.
