Wildcats Lose to Hosts, Beat Adrian at Cal-Lu-Fornia Classic

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The Johnson & Wales University men's volleyball team rebounded from an opening loss on Saturday to win its final match at the Cal-Lu-Fornia Classic, hosted by Cal Lutheran. The Wildcats topped Adrian 3-1 (17-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-10) after falling 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-19 to the Kingsmen.

Johnson & Wales: 12-5

Of Note:
Coming off the loss to the Kingsmen, the Wildcats dropped the opening set to Adrian. JWU hit .500 in the second set and limited the Bulldogs to .000.

Johnson & Wales hit .272 for the match and held Adrian to a .127 rate. The Wildcats also had 12 digs to the Bulldogs' three.

Three Wildcats produced double-digit kills, led by Jack Pincince's match-high 14 winners. Middle blocker Donovan Kelley contributed 10 kills and seven blocks.

In the first match of the day, JWU could not get the offense going. They were limited to a .013 hitting percentage. Kelley was tops with a half dozen kills.

Johnson & Wales gets back into GNAC action next Saturday against 15th-ranked Rivier and Wentworth.
