Wildcats Split Day Two of Golden Flyer Invitational

ROCHESTER, NY – The Johnson & Wales University men's volleyball team came up just short of sweeping the second day of the Golden Flyer Invitational. The Wildcats started the day by dropping a 3-0 (17-25, 23-25, 27-29) decision to host Nazareth then beat Medaille 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-16).

Of Note:  
After dropping the first set to the Golden Flyers, JWU had a 23-20 lead in set two. A pair of JWU errors and three Nazareth kills gave the hosts the set. The Wildcats had set point in the third stanza after a Sanjae Holloway kill, but the Golden Flyers rallied to win the match.

The JWU attack was spread out with five different players recording five or more kills. Holloway and Donovan Kelley led the way with eight each. Kelley added a team-high five blocks.

The Wildcats cruised past Medaille by hitting .267 while holding the Mavericks to .054. Johnson & Wales also had a 43-32 advantage in digs to go along with seven aces.

Holloway topped all players with 11 kills. Kelley had six kills while hitting .545. Setter Cameron Ponce nearly had a double-double with 30 assists and nine digs.
