Box Score The men's volleyball team posted a 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-21) victory against Emerson in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest on the road on Thursday evening.
Johnson & Wales was led by Ryan Kennedy (West Barnstable, Mass.) with 13 kills, seven digs and two blocks while sophomore Brendan Baker (Providence, R.I.) notched 10 kills, seven digs and three blocks for the Wildcats. Senior J.J. Bessette (Coventry, R.I.) recorded 35 set assists while sophomore Kyle MacKnight (Northport, N.Y.) had a team-best 10 digs in the victory.
Jackson Wiley paced Emerson with 11 kills while Brendan McGonigle had 18 set assists and eight digs in the loss. Jared Gross had a match-high 11 digs for the Lions.
With the win Johnson & Wales improves to 13-4 overall and 3-2 in the GNAC while Emerson drops to 7-5 on the year with a 1-2 mark in league play. The Wildcats will return to action on Saturday, March 7th when they travel to Springfield for a tri-match with Springfield and Dominican at 3:00 p.m.
