Box Score The men's volleyball team posted a 3-1 (16-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-19) victory against Albertus Magnus in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest on the road on Thursday evening.
Johnson & Wales was led by senior Shawn Kennedy (West Barnstable, Mass.) who tallied a double-double with 11 kills and 15 digs while sophomore Ryan Kennedy (West Barnstable, Mass.) added 11 kills and five digs in the victory. Junior J.J. Bessette (Coventry, R.I.) added 41 set assists and seven digs while senior Alex Viera (Bay Shore, N.Y) had 10 digs for the Wildcats.
Raul Rivera Rojas (Vega Baja, Puerto Rico) led Albertus Magnus with 17 kills and 11 digs while Raymond Torres (Catano, Puerto Rico) dished out 27 assists. Brendan Charamut (Southington, Conn.) notched 11 digs and five kills in the setback for the Falcons.
The victory improves JWU to 14-9 on the season, 6-4 in the GNAC, while the Albertus Magnus falls to 8-9 overall and 2-8 in conference action. JWU will return to action Saturday, March 29th when they travel to Rivier for a GNAC tri-math with host Rivier and Lasell, starting at 11:00 a.m.
