Box Score The men's volleyball team posted a 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-23) victory against Albertus Magnus in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest at the Wildcat Center on Thursday evening.
Senior Shawn Kennedy (West Barnstable, Mass.) led the way for Johnson & Wales with 14 kills and eight digs while sophomore Ryan Kennedy (West Barnstable, Mass.) narrowly missed a double-double with nine kills and 11 digs. Junior J.J. Bessette (Coventry, R.I.) had 41 set assists and two digs while senior Alex Viera (Bay Shore, N.Y.) notched 10 digs in the win for the Wildcats.
Freshman Raul Rivera Rojas (Vega Baja, Puerto Rico) paced Albertus Magnus with 10 kills and three blocks while senior Douglas DeSousa (Danbury, Conn.) had 23 set assists and three kills in the setback for the Falcons.
With the victory JWU improves to 11-8 overall and 3-3 in the GNAC while Albertus Magnus falls to 7-5 overall and 2-4 in league play. The Wildcats will return to action on Saturday, March 22nd when they travel to Emerson for a Great Northeast Athletic conference tri-match with Wentworth and Emerson starting at 11:00 a.m.
