Box Score Senior Shawn Kennedy (West Barnstable, Mass.) recorded a double-double with 26 kills and 12 digs to lead the Johnson & Wales University men's volleyball team to a thrilling 3-2 (27-29, 27-25, 21-25, 25-22, 15-13) victory against Lasell in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest on the road on Friday evening.
Johnson & Wales junior J.J. Bessette (Coventry, R.I.) tallied 53 set assists and eight digs in the victory while sophomore Kyle Eva (Charlestown, R.I.) had 13 kills, four digs and three blocks for the Wildcats. Sophomore Ryan Kennedy (West Barnstable, Mass.) was also in double-figures with 11 kills, three digs and four blocks in the win.
Dan Raffol notched a double-double in the loss for Lasell with 21 kills and 12 digs while Jeff Vautrin also had a double-double with 15 kills and 13 digs. Andrew Glenn had 53 set assists and eight digs in the loss for the Lasers.
With the victory Johnson & Wales improves to 7-5 for the season and 1-1 in the GNAC while Lasell falls to 6-3 overall and 1-1 in league play. JWU will return to action on Monday, February 24th when they travel to Mount Ida for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest starting at 7:00 p.m.
