The fourth seeded men's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (19-25, 13-25, 15-25) decision against top seeded Rivier in the semifinals of the 2013 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship on the road on Thursday evening.

Junior Shawn Kennedy (West Barnstable, Mass.) led the way for Johnson & Wales with 10 kills with five digs for the Wildcats. Sophomore J.J. Bessette (Coventry, R.I.) collected 22 assists while sophomore Matt Jenkins (Damascus, Md.) chipped in with seven kills in the setback.

Rivier was led by junior Aaron Almario (Alhambra, Calif.) who recorded 10 kills while fellow junior Terence Matatall (Danville, N.H.) added eight kills in the win for the Raiders..  Senior Steve Visentin (Cheshire, Conn.) added 28 assists while junior Matt Bynon (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) collected a game high seven digs.

With the loss Johnson & Wales wraps up the 2013 with a 13-19 overall record.
