Box Score The men's volleyball team notched a 3-2 (25-18, 22-25, 25-20, 21-25, 15-8) win against Albertus Magnus in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest at the Wildcat Center on Wednesday evening.
Johnson & Wales was led by junior Dan Struebing (Coventry, R.I.) with 14 kills and 11 blocks while junior Shawn Kennedy (West Barnstable, Mass.) added 10 kills, seven digs and two blocks. Sophomore J.J. Bessette (Coventry, R.I.) tallied 50 set assists in the victory for the Wildcats.
Sophomore Glenn Johnson (Newington, Conn.) paced Albertus Magnus with 19 kills and 12 digs while junior Carlos Torres (adjuntas, Puerto Rico) notched 47 set assists in the loss for the Falcons.
With the win Johnson & Wales improves to 5-4 for the season and 3-2 in the GNAC while Albertus Magnus falls to 4-3 and 0-1 in league play. The Wildcats will return to action on Saturday, February 23rd when they host Mount Ida for a GNAC contest at 1:00 p.m.
