Box Score The men's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 (18-25, 22-25, 25-18, 17-25) decision against tenth-ranked Rivier in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest at Muldoon Gymnasium on Tuesday evening.
Johnson & Wales was led by sophomore Dan Struebing (Coventry, R.I.) with 10 kills and three blocks while sophomore Shawn Kennedy (West Barnstable, Mass.) added 10 kills and three digs. Freshman J.J. Bessette (Coventry, R.I.) tallied 39 set assists with five digs and three blocks in the setback for the Wildcats.
Chris Markuson paced Rivier with 16 kills and three blocks while Steve Visentin had 42 set assists, four blocks and three digs in the victory for the Raiders.
With the loss Johnson & Wales falls to 14-15 on the season and 6-5 in the GNAC while Rivier improves to 21-8 overall and 11-0 in league play. The Wildcats will return to action on Thursday, April 5th when they host Emerson for a GNAC contest, starting at 7:00 p.m.
