The women's cross country team captured their third straight Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship at Rivier on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats finished with 47 team points while St. Joseph's of Maine was in second place with 55 points on the day.
Senior Laura Furfaro (North Warren, N.J.) notched a second place finish for Johnson & Wales, running the 5K course in a time of 20:04. Senior Jessica Klepper (Long Valley, N.J.) was the next finisher for JWU, earning All-GNAC accolades after clocking a time of 20:26 which was good for a sixth place finish while senior Kate Levinson (Moorestown, N.J.) also garnered all-conference recognition with a ninth place finish in a time of 21:04.
JWU will return to action on Saturday, November 3rd when they travel to Williamstown, Mass., for the 2012 ECAC Division III Championship.
