Box Score The men's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-14) decision against #11 Rivier in the semifinals of the 2011 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship at the Muldoon Center on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Petar Yanakiev (Varna, Bulgaria) led the way for Johnson & Wales with 11 kills, four digs and a block. Senior Eric Minnich (Concord, Calif.) added five kills while freshman Gerard Daniels (Miami, Fla.) had 22 set assists and five digs for the Wildcats
Jared Andreozzi paced Rivier with 16 kills, four digs and two blocks while Steven Vesintin added 29 set assists and three blocks in the victory for the Raiders.
With the loss Johnson & Wales is now 8-14 for the season while Rivier improves to 29-8 on the year. The Wildcats will wrap up the 2011 campaign on Wednesday, March 30th when they travel to Elms for a non-conference contest, starting at 7:00 p.m.
