Pete DiVito began his tenure as Assistant Athletic Director for Communications at JWU (Providence) in August, 2022. Since his arrival, he has overseen the transition of the University’s athletic website to SIDEARM, reshaped the Wildcats’ social media presence, and hosted more than a dozen conference championship events. In 2025, he spearheaded the media efforts for the NCAA Division III Wrestling National Championship, which was hosted by JWU at the Amica Mutual Pavilion.

A veteran of more than 20 years in the profession, DiVito came to JWU following 10 years as the Athletic Communications Director at Nichols College (2012-22). While in Dudley, DiVito oversaw the publicity efforts of all 23 Bison athletic programs, including press releases, statistics, photography, graphic design, and social media and video content. In March of 2019, his work publicizing the men's basketball program's run to the Elite 8 culminated with a video he took appearing on ABC's 'World News Tonight' with David Muir.

DiVito began his career with internships at Rutgers University (2001-02) and the University of Delaware (2002-05) before stints at Goldey-Beacom College (2004-05), Merrimack College (2005-07), URI (2007-08), Salve Regina (2008-11), and Wheaton (MA) (2011-12). In 2003, he assisted with the publicity efforts of the Blue Hens I-AA National Championship football program.

DiVito been a media relations gameday assistant for the New York Jets since 2007 and a statistician for Jets radio broadcasts since 2010. He was chosen to volunteer at Super Bowl 48 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Additionally, DiVito works for the Worcester Red Sox, a position he has held since 2009, when they were knows as the Pawtucket Red Sox. DiVito is also a part-time statistician at Providence College, Brown University, and Bryant University athletic events.

DiVito has volunteered at 17 Hockey East Championships (2006-17, 2019, 2022-25) and served as the official scorer five times (2015, 2022-25). Additionally, he was worked at three Division I Frozen Four Championships (2009, 2015, 2022) and served as the official scorer at the 2022 NCAA Division I Frozen Four, the 2023 NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Regional in Providence, and the 2023 Division III Frozen Four at Endicott College. Away from the ice, DiVito has worked at five Division I Men’s Basketball East Regionals (2003, 2004, 2005, 2018, 2024), the Division I Men’s Basketball First Round three times (2004, 2016, 2025), and the 2006 Division I Women’s Basketball Final Four in Boston.

A graduate of Towson University in Maryland with a degree in communications, DiVito spent three years as a student worker in the Towson athletic department. As a senior, he worked as a sports reporter for The Towerlight, Towson's school newspaper.

DiVito – who grew up in Mount Vernon, N.Y. and Hillsborough, N.J. – now resides in Warwick, R.I. with his girlfriend and son.
