Colby Greenhalgh ’21 returned home to take over the head coaching reins of the JWU (Providence) baseball team in September, 2025.
Greenhalgh – who spent two seasons as an assistant under Casey here at JWU (2022-23) – was a member of the coaching staff at Conference of New England (CNE) foe Nichols College this past spring. The Plainfield, Connecticut native worked with the hitters, outfielders, and catchers, and the Bison closed 2025 with a team batting average of .311 and 26 wins. Three of Greenhalgh’s student-athletes garnered all-region honors.
Additionally, Greenhalgh directed recruiting efforts across New England at Nichols, coordinated team and prospect camps, managed advanced scouting and analytics, and assisted in all fundraising updates.
A three-time Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) First Team pick (2018-19, 2021) at JWU, Greenhalgh graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sports, Entertainment, Event – Management. He was a member of both the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and Chi Alpha Sigma Honors Society.
Upon graduation, Greenhalgh joined the Wildcats coaching staff and helped guide them to both the 2022 and 2023 GNAC Championship. He organized practice plans and individualized development sessions for hitters, catchers, and outfielders and coordinated recruiting across the northeast region. Additionally, Greenhalgh managed advanced scouting, analytics, and defensive alignments, assisted with strength & conditioning program design, and managed all marketing and social media efforts.
Greenhalgh then spent one season (2024) as an assistant at Quinnipiac, where he worked with both the catchers and outfielders, recruited across the northeast, and assisted with advanced scouting and defensive shifts.
