PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The JWU (Providence) women's soccer team fell to Gordon College 1-0 in Conference of New England (CNE) action Monday afternoon at a rain-soaked Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.
Eowyn Lapp scored the only goal of the match at 26:24 on a play which began with a corner kick. After junior
Lauren Farquhar blocked a shot from Julia Evans on the goal line, the rebound came right to Lapp for her second goal of the season.
Following a sluggish start which saw the visitors hold a 9-1 advantage in shots through the first 45 minutes, the home team responded by outshooting them 13-3 in the second half. Senior
Sophia Warburton led all JWU student-athletes with four shots.
