MANCHESTER, Conn. – The JWU (Providence) women's cross country made the quick trip west on Saturday morning, placing sixth in the George Suitor Invitational in an event which featured more than 150 individual competitors. For the fourth consecutive season, the 5K event was hosted by Trinity (CT) College at Wickham Park.

Junior Amanda Intrieri highlighted the day for the Wildcats, finishing in 11th place behind a PR time of 19:11.2. Intrieri has now led the team in each of the first two meets of the young season, as she took home the individual crown at last week's Suffolk Short Course Classic.

Classmate Caroline Carter (19:52.3) and graduate student Evelyn Eastman (19:56.2) followed with new personal bests of their own, finishing the day in 34th and 36th place, respectively. Junior Lulani Haslinger (20:12.8) was the next Wildcat across the finish line while sophomore Josie Spaulding (20:28.4) rounded out the team's scoring.

JWU is set to return to action next Saturday when it takes part in the UMass Dartmouth Invitational. The meet is set to begin at 12:00 p.m. at Robert Dowd Cross Country Couse in North Dartmouth, Mass.
