NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The JWU (Providence) women's volleyball program received the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award and was named to the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll, which represents the top 20% of GPA's nationally by division.
 
To be eligible for this prestigious honor, a team must maintain a year-long grade point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale. Earlier this year, 12 Wildcats were named to the Conference of New England (CNE) Academic All-Conference Team: Nevaeh Arnold, Sophia Diphilippo, Olivia Immel, Ajie Jagne, Bailey Koopman, Emerson Lane, Sierra Nausieda, Katelyn O'Brien, Hannah Pereira, Carlie Tretera, Kelsie Tretera, and Skylar Winchester
 
"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."
 
This is the third-consecutive season the Wildcats have received this honor and the 11th time in program history. Other CNE programs to receive the team academic award include Endicott, Gordon, Hartford, Nichols, Suffolk, and Wentworth.
