PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior
Jack Obert smacked a pair of home runs – including a grand slam in game two – as the JWU (Providence) baseball team wrapped up the 2026 campaign by sweeping Suffolk University Friday at the Scotts Miracle-Go Athletic Complex.
Between games one and two, the Wildcats honored seniors

Jack Obert for their contributions to the program.
Game One: Wildcats 15, Rams 5 (7 inn.)
Obert finished 2-for-3 with a home run and an RBI single as the Wildcats pushed across eight runs in the seventh to grab a win in the opener. Acquisto, Jr. sparked a five-run first with a two-run single and finished with a career-high four hits, and redshirt senior
Ryan Ducey and junior
Jack Dwyer each laced two-run singles in the seventh. Freshman
Sam Schoenberg picked up two hits and plated two in the seventh for a JWU team which pounded out 18 hits. Randazzo made his final start for the Wildcats and struck out six in three innings before giving way to Nockels, who registered his second win in three days.
Game Two: Wildcats 17, Rams 10
Obert's 10th home run of the season in the fifth put the Wildcats ahead 12-6 and gave him 40 RBI on the season. Junior
Diego Taveras had a two-run double and plated three runs, Ducey went 2-for-3 with two walks, two RBI and two runs scored, and freshman
Dimitri Staphos picked up an RBI single in the fourth and finished with two hits. Sophomore
Kiefer McGrath, along with freshmen
Bryce Larco and
Chris Rosales, all closed 2026 with a hit. Nickerson, meanwhile, fanned five in 5.1 innings of work to earn his 13th and final collegiate win at JWU.
