Strong second half lifts Wildcats to 10-7 win over Curry

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Sophomore Jacob Tresser scored three goals and freshman Alex Spada racked up three points to propel the JWU (Providence) men's lacrosse team to the first Conference of New England (CNE) win in program history, a 10-7 triumph over Curry College Tuesday night at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.

Spada potted two goals and added an assist for the Wildcats (2-5, 1-2 CNE), who outscored the Colonels 6-2 in the second half to snap a three-game losing skid. Junior Jack Davis handed out a pair of assists while classmate Jack Donnelly and sophomore Greyson Doyle each found the back of the net twice.

The Colonels (2-8, 0-3 CNE) took a 5-4 lead with four seconds remaining in the second quarter. Goals from Tresser and Donnelly 2:16 apart early in the third gave JWU a 6-5 lead. After the visitors tied the game at 5:28 of the third, freshman Eddie Stradowski netted the eventual game-winner 42 seconds later to stake the Wildcats to a 7-6 lead.

In the fourth, Doyle and Tresser tallied less than two minutes apart to stretch the lead to 9-6. Juni netminder Ethan Moshier came on to start the third quarter and made four saves to notch his first win of 2026.

Senior Thomas Haggerty won 14-of-19 at the X and finished with nine ground balls while Donnelly recorded seven and Davis notched five.
