Omar Grullon scored a team-high 14 points in the season finale for the JWU (Providence) men's basketball team in a 79-58 loss to Western New England University Saturday afternoon in Conference of New England (CNE) action at the Wildcat Center.
Prior to the start of the contest, head coach
Jamie Benton unveiled a 1,000-point banner during a ceremony to honor the 15 student-athletes in program history to achieve this feat. Those in attendance included Aireus Raspberry,
Josh Zangerle, Lamonte Thomas, Brian Fernandes, Anthony Williams, Darren Faust, and TJ Ciolfi.

Silas Sawtelle scored 13 points to go with three rebounds and a pair of steals in his final collegiate outing. Junior
Alvin Baez – who finished as the team's leading scorer at 19.3 ppg – filled the stat sheet with 12 points, seven rebounds, three steals and a pair of dimes.
The Wildcats (3-22, 2-14 CNE) shot 45 percent – including 50 percent from downtown (6-of-12) – but were unable to overcome 20 turnovers which the Golden Bears turned into 18 points. The visitors outrebounded the Wildcats 40-29 – including 15-6 on the offensive glass.

Dylan Hooter closed his collegiate career with a three-point, four-rebound, three-block, two-steal effort for JWU.
